SDG 6: CLEAN WATER AND SANITATION FOR ALL

All people should have access to safe and affordable drinking water. To ensure access to water for all and prevent water scarcity, water should be used more efficiently.

Sanitary facilities and sewage treatment plants enable everyone to satisfy their hygiene needs. Special attention will be paid to the needs of women and girls as well as people in precarious situations (people in poverty, on the move, without a permanent residence or sans papiers).

Current situation:

Worldwide: 26% of people still do not have access to clean drinking water. 55% of people do not have access to sanitary facilities such as a toilet. Most of them live in rural areas. https://www.sdg6data.org/

Switzerland: Switzerland's daily drinking water consumption is 160 litres per person. We import 80% of our water consumption via consumer goods. This water is used in production processes abroad. wfw.ch
