Progr
The PROGR: from the outside, the building is still reminiscent of the Pro-Gymer, the Bernese grammar school that was at this location until 2004. Today, the PROGR is a studio and meeting place in the centre of Bern. New things are tried out, rejected again, the future is shaped. More than 200 artists from all disciplines produce art in 71 rooms. They work door to door with cultural institutions and event organisers in the building. Exhibitions and concerts take place on the ground floor. People from near and far meet in the "sports hall" or the "staff room". Not for sports or exams, but for a drink or a bite to eat.
The Progr also houses the café révolution. It is a meeting place and a physical safe space for active anti-racist work, self-empowerment and education, culture, as well as for meeting, exchanging, networking and staying for Black women and all people interested in anti-racist work.
