SDG 13: COMBAT CLIMATE CHANGE
SDG 13 refers to the implementation of the Paris Climate Agreement. This was adopted only 2 months after the 2030 Agenda. The Paris Climate Agreement is a legally binding agreement that has also been ratified by Switzerland.
It calls for measures to limit climate change as well as adaptation measures to climate change.
The industrialised countries of the Global North want to contribute 100 billion a year from 2020 to support developing countries and help them plan measures and adapt to climate change.
Current situation:
Worldwide: Global surface temperatures have risen by 1°C since 1850
(MeteoSwiss: global climate change)
Switzerland: Since 1990, Switzerland's greenhouse gas emissions have only fallen by 14%. (FOEN: Switzerland's greenhouse gas Inventory)
