Stiftsgarten

Badgasse 49, Bern

Here, in the centre of Bern, a green urban oasis is cultivated for organic gardening, encounter, sustainable education and inclusion. In the Stiftsgarten, biodiversity is the focus: old varieties are grown, propagated, processed and sold. Resilient agriculture that can adapt to climate change needs a great diversity of species.

Information and educational events directly in the garden raise public awareness of sustainable living.

The garden is run by a small, professional team and worked on by numerous volunteer hands. Working in the garden gives people from all over the world a meaningful and grounding occupation and daily structure. The partnership with the University Hospital for Psychiatry allows people with traumatic flight experiences to have positive experiences in a community.
