SDG 1: NO POVERTY
End poverty in all its forms everywhere
Every person should have at least US$ 1.90 per day. No one should be afraid of falling into poverty. In richer countries, the number of people below the poverty line should be halved.
Access to resources (e.g. education, land, new technologies, credit, etc.) should be facilitated for people in poverty to make them more resilient to economic, environmental and political crises. Measures should be taken first for people particularly affected by poverty, including women or people in precarious situations.
Current situation:
Worldwide: reduction of extreme poverty from 15% to 8% in the last 10 years. The Covid crisis is partially reversing this progress. (World Bank – Poverty)
Switzerland: One in 12 people lived in poverty in 2019 - share increasing since 2014 (Federal Statistical Office - Poverty )
